It's 3:30pm on Monday as I type these words. For the first time I'm working on my website in a Starbucks using a netbook. It's so liberating to finally get out of the house! In any case, my battery is about to poop out so (as usual) this will be quickie blog entry with minimal commentary.

Last Friday (the 13th!!!), my friend Naíto hosted a juerga at Bodega in honor of local guitarrista Ramin to celebrate his birthday. I was doing my usual flamenco gig with dancer Ginette Perea and singer Hector Márquez a few blocks away at Cabanas so I didn't arrive at the juerga until 11pm (it started at 9pm) and as expected the party was already in full swing (albeit in the cold) at the outdoor patio of Bodega. It wasn't so bad since there were some outdoor heaters, not to mention the inner warmth generated by the delicious sangría. :-)

It's 4-something on Friday morning as I type these words. Got home a while ago after hanging out at Bodega with a couple of flamenco friends. My favorite bartender Sachi was working and of course she kept our glasses constantly filled with sangría. Good times! :-)

It's been at least a few weeks (probably close to a month) since my last blog post. I've been busy, what can I say? Oh well...better late than never, right? Anywayz, here are some random pics from the most recent juerga at Bodega.

It's 1:00pm on Tuesday as I type these words. I hope you all had an enjoyable three day weekend. I know I did. Anywayz, on Sunday night, I hosted a flamenco juerga at Bodega restaurant in Georgetown which was very well-attended. I only sent out the invitations via FaceBook just as an experiment to see how effective it would be for publicity. The day before the juerga I had 71 people confirmed and 38 maybes!

However, the courtyard at Bodega can hold about 40 people comfortably so fortunately our guests arrived in several waves. Some came for awhile and left, then another small crowd came in. When that crowd left, another came in.

Cool thing was that about half of the guests I had never met before, which is good: new people to introduce to the DC flamenco scene! Of course I told lots of them about DCFlamenco.com and even met a new dancer or two who are new to the area and unaware of the flamenco scene, yay!

Here are the pics. Enjoy!

It's 6-something on Monday evening as I type these words. Finally get back to blogging again. These are pics from last Friday at Bodega in Georgetown. Since my Friday night gig at Cabanas was canceled for the evening due to a private event I decided to setup a little impromptu party aka juerga so that my fellow flamenco performers and friends could still get their flamenco fix on a Friday night.

I called a few friends and those friends called more friends and the party sort of grew from there. As you can see, we had a blast. Unfortunately, I didn't bring my good camera so the pics are a bit blurry. Enjoy!
