It's been a couple of days since I actually blogged here. Just been posting photos but not making much commentary. I've been busy between rehearsals, the website and squeezing in some essential downtime to recuperate.

Of course, I haven't been taking photos either, so I had to dig up one from last year, in particular, one from my trip to Madrid so I can have something to comment on. This was taken at Puerta del Sol, basically the geographic center of Madrid and a common landmark that locals use all the time as a rendezvous point. e.g. "Meet me at Sol."

What was cool was that it was already 8:00pm and the sun was still shining (note the long shadows). It was still too early for dinner, but it was a great time to sit down at a café and enjoy a beer and watch the people walk by.

As you can tell, I'm in a vacation kind of mood today. My place is a mess--a sign that I've been pretty busy. There are exactly five empty water bottles, two Starbucks cups and whatnot strewn about my desk. Been coming home late (by dayjobbers' standards), dropping everything and going straight to bed. Having a blast of course, but someone's gotta clean up here, do laundry etc. :-)

As for today, I'm going to Georgetown at noon to drop off my sound system at Cabanas cuz I have a late afternoon rehearsal all the way out in Rockville. When I get out of the studio, I'll be cutting it too close to showtime for my gig and I don't feel like dragging a 100 pounds of sound equipment and lights when I'm in a hurry ya know what I mean?

Cool thing is that it gives me a great excuse to meet up with a friend for lunch. Not that I really need an excuse. But I just love it when I can be productive AND keep up with my friends in the same afternoon. :-) Go see Adam Sandler's latest flick Click. It's funny, heartwarming and a humorous reminder of the importance of spending quality time with friends and family. Life passes by too quickly!

OK, gotta go take a shower, search for some clean clothes and get out of the house. Ciao!
