Tourist for a day April 7, 2006
It's 7:53am on Saturday as I type these words. Yesterday, a dancer friend invited me out for lunch in Georgetown. She had the whole day off, so after a leisurely meal, she offered to give me a tour of her favorite place to "escape" in DC.
Funny thing is that when we arrived at the gate, the guard said, "Please wait. Let me get you free tickets." Turns out he recognized me from one of my shows and he's also a friend of a flamenco dancer named Marta, who happens to teach belly dance at Joy of Motion. My tour guide, impressed, said, "Miguelito, you have fans everywhere!"

After living in DC for years, I have yet to discover all the beautiful and interesting places that tourists travel thousands of miles to see. And it's all right here practically in my own backyard! Do you know where this place is? Take a guess! (HINT: it's a few blocks away from Cafe Bonaparte)

To end the " tour," my guide treated me to something cool at Dolcezza. She ordered the lemon sorbetto with ginger and I got the dulce de leche gelato. Mmmm!

A few hours later, I finished up my show at Cabanas and took a few pics of my friends...

Got a busy day ahead of me. After playing for classes at American Dance Institute, I have to setup my sound system for a tech rehearsal at Joy of Motion where I'll be performing with Furia Flamenca tonight and Sunday. The theatre is walking distance from my house, yay! See you there.
