Friday with Miguelito March 3, 2006
It's 1:03am on Saturday as I type these words. I decided to call it an early night and get a full night's rest for a change so the commentary will be very brief.
I performed at Cabanas as usual for Friday night. The dancers were Ginette Perea and Shahram Tehranian. The restaurant was pretty empty a half an hour before the show, but business picked up just in time and it turned out to be a decent night.

Ginette tried something new with costuming: wearing pants and a shawl for the top. Nice combination don't you think?
This one customer, Stephen, who came last week, returned again this evening with his girlfriend especially to see the show. There was a table of three very enthusiastic people that promised to come back and bring more friends.

Another guy, named Michael, came to the show because he saw one of the promotional postcards for Cabanas that I was distributing at the Gala de Andalucia show at Lisner two weeks ago. So you see...little by little we're developing a following here. It takes time. As the weather warms up and more people flock to the waterfront business will only get better.

Time for bed. I"ll stop by El Patio as usual Saturday morning for Argentinian breakfast before going to Anna Menendez's dance class at American Dance Institute at noon. Tonight I'm going to the Dentro show at Joy of Motion Friendship Heights as a member of the press. My job is to take pictures of the show and perhaps get a few quotes from the performers and audience members. See you there!
